Privacy Policy | Drystone Fells (UK GDPR notice)

Who keeps the data at the farmhouse

The controller for personal data processed through drystonefells.com is the operator of drystonefells.com. Contact: [email protected].

What is packed in your account

What we pack	Why it is carried	Left in the fold until
Fell name	Putting a name on your scorecard	Until you take the account down
Email address on our sheet	Telling one walker’s account from another at log-in	Until you take the account down
Password hash	Checking your password at the gate without ever holding it	Until you take the account down
Sign-up date	Replying to your notes and keeping trouble off the fell	Until you take the account down

Nothing more is collected. We never ask for your real name, home address, date of birth, phone number or any payment detail, since there is nothing here to pay for. Your password is held only as a one-way hash. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (providing the account you asked us for). Deleting the account wipes all of this at once, and the button to do it sits on your account page.

What stays behind in your own browser

What we pack	Why Ghyll keeps it	Left in the fold until
Your coins, level, missions and the settings for each fell	Picking your walk up where you stopped	Until you sweep this browser clean like a slate
Age confirmation	Stops the banner stopping you at every stile	Until you sweep this browser clean like a slate
Cookie choice	Remembering what you told the banner	Until you sweep this browser clean like a slate

All of this stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Google tags, waiting at the stile for your yes

If you pick “Accept all”, Google Analytics and Google Ads tags measure visits and whether our adverts lead to play, such as a first spin having happened. Google then receives your IP address, device information and those events. If you pick “Essential only”, the tags run in consent mode with no cookies and no advertising identifiers. Lawful basis: consent.

Request logs in the host’s fell ledger

Our web host keeps everyday request logs for a short spell, for security on the fell. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.

What we leave well alone

No payment data at any point: nothing here is for sale.
No marketing emails unless you ask to receive them.
Your data is never sold to anyone, nor rented out to anyone.
No data handed to gambling operators, and not one gambling affiliate link on the fells.

Your rights over your data (UK GDPR)

You may access, correct, erase or restrict your data, object to its processing, and withdraw consent whenever you like. Deleting the account from your account page erases the account data straight away; clearing this site’s data in your browser takes away the rest. Complaints can go to the ICO at ico.org.uk.

How we look after your data
